Introduction: Yoga – A Timeless Gift of India
Every year on 21st June, people across the globe celebrate International Yoga Day to honor the invaluable gift of Yoga, which has become a global symbol of peace, health, and harmony. DYK School, a branch of the visionary Dhyan Yoga Kendra, took immense pride in celebrating the 11th International Yoga Day 2025 with remarkable zeal and spiritual energy.
This year’s theme “Yoga for Self and Society” deeply resonates with the vision of DYK School: nurturing not just academic excellence but also physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being among its students.
Why International Yoga Day Matters to DYK School?
As one of the leading institutions promoting a holistic education model, DYK School integrates Yoga, Meditation, and Value-based learning as part of the core curriculum. Our belief is simple — a balanced mind resides in a healthy body, and Yoga is the bridge that connects both.
The celebration of International Yoga Day is not just an annual event but a reinforcement of our commitment to the physical fitness, mental clarity, and emotional intelligence of students.

Event Overview: A Day of Alignment, Awareness, and Awakening
The day started early with a warm welcome speech by the School Principal followed by prayer and chanting of mantras, aligning everyone with positive vibrations. A trained yoga instructor from Dhyan Yoga Kendra led the mass yoga session, where students from classes 1 to 12, teachers, and parents joined in unison.
Asanas like Tadasana, Trikonasana, Vrikshasana, Bhujangasana, and Surya Namaskar were practiced with guided instructions. The instructors explained the benefits of each posture, making students more aware of their body-mind connection.
The serene ambiance and synchronized movement created a mesmerizing sight — a true reflection of the harmony yoga brings into life.
Special Session: Meditation & Healing for Young Minds
After the yoga practice, students participated in a 15-minute guided meditation session. Techniques based on PLR (Past Life Regression), NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), and Deep Relaxation were introduced in a child-friendly manner.
This was followed by a Lama Fera healing demonstration, a Tibetan method of energy healing offered by the DYK Healing Department. Students were amazed to experience calmness, focus, and a deeper connection with themselves.
Creative Expression through Poster Making and Quiz
To spark creativity and deeper understanding, the school organized a Yoga Day Poster Making Competition on the theme: “Yoga – A Way of Life.” Students expressed their ideas with vibrant visuals, slogans, and spiritual symbols like Om, Chakra, and Yogic Mudras.
Simultaneously, an interactive Yoga Quiz tested students’ knowledge about ancient yogic texts, asanas, international yoga statistics, and benefits of pranayama. Winners were awarded certificates and eco-friendly gifts.
Expert Talk: Wisdom from the Masters
One of the event’s key highlights was a motivational speech by Yogacharya Subhav Sharma, the founder of Dhyan Yoga Kendra. He emphasised:
“Yoga is not just a body exercise; it is a science of consciousness, a way to live peacefully, grow spiritually, and contribute mindfully to society.”
He also shared stories from ancient texts like the Bhagavad Gita and Patanjali Yoga Sutras, inspiring students to walk on the path of Swa-dhyaya (self-study) and Dhyana (meditation).
Ayurvedic Nurturing and Sattvic Food
Post the yoga sessions, students were served Ayurveda-inspired healthy breakfast consisting of sprouts, fruits, lemon water, and jaggery-based sweets. This was done to encourage a Sattvic diet and educate children about mindful eating.
